THE FALLEN TRAPEZE

Our most resent project was a short film called The Fallen Trapeze. It was an incredible project to work on, the actors, art direction and locations were priceless. The shoot was over 6 full days working from 9AM untill around 3AM, but it was worth it. As a collective we all learnt so much through this shoot, how hard you have to work, how much time you have to put into what you love and how to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for all cast and crew. Another interesting production that shows our professionalism in the industry.

This is our holding site for Brown Bread Films. We really like that its simple and strait forward, as a holding page it is showcasing our summer 2010 showreel. Bolton Abby Train Station

In return for the Bolton Abby train station one of our locations in Benjamin, we agreed to produce the company a promotional video for their website. We feel that is will look amazing and we know we could do a great job for them. We feel that it will be a good film for our website by showing people our professionalism and hard working attitude. Also we are looking forward to going on the steam trains all day:)

Vivian Westwood Collection Fashion Shoot

We were employed to light and shoot a Personal Collection of Vivienne Westwood Shoes video for an exhibition .

The Get in is on this Fri 3pm-6pm - Shoot 7pm till 10pm / Sat 8am Till 9pm / Sun 8am - 10pm.

The elements of the video are based in the ideas of beauty, art, fun, fantasy, drama, obsession, and shoes. Set in a warehouse where human mannequins come to life.

We shot it at Studio 81, Kirkstall Road, Leeds LS3 1LH, the studio was really large and was great to go down there and meet the people who manage the space.

The best thing about taking the job on was to meet new creative people in the industry and getting there information for the future. The shoot was also sponsored by Pro Vision so it was amazing to meet some more of the guys that work there. This also gave us the opportunity to learn how to use equipment that we hadn't use before, like 4K lights, Butterfly frames and different track and dollies.

FASHION_TEST_SHOOT_PPD

These are some stills from a shoot we did in the photography infinity curve. We wanted to practice and develop our skills in lighting, by using different photography lighting. The idea was to shoot a girl next door style model in a weird little world. We built the set ourselves and we were very pleased with it, the whole shoot only cost us (as a collective) around £100. We used many different cinematic techniques to create the over look we wanted, it was a great shoot and everyone had fun.

DeLorean Drivers Music Video.

Here are some screen grabs from the music video. We are really pleased with the video as it was a huge challenge for use. BUT.... we feel that we wouldn't what to take such a heavy after effects project on without planning how much time we would have to invest. The band and management were extremely pleased with the video, the manager also said he has more work lined up for the future. The screen grabs are of the music video without grade.

Phaze 2 MUSIC VIDEO IDEAS

We produced an edit for a meeting with Phaze two to show the guys what we have in mind for there shoot. We cannot post it up as the track is there 'FRIDAY FEELING'. This we felt was a great way to interact with our client and to show them some progressive research.

PHAZE 2 MUSIC VIDEO LOCATION

We went to view the club location for a scene in the music video, we felt that the club looked wright for the tone of the video. We really liked the light wall we felt that is suited the song and feel of the film. We had a meeting with the manager of the club and he was really keen in the project, he said we could shoot for free on a Wednesday or Thursday.

PHAZE 2 MUSIC VIDEO BROWN BREAD FILMS

We have been approached to produce a music video for a new rap/r&b called Phaze 2. The initial meeting with the guys went well and we created some great ideas between us. We have organised a meeting with a club manager in town to see if it would suit teh video. One of the main reasons that we feel that we should take this project on, is that we really believe that the song could do extremely well in the charts. Both guys in the group are hard working and passionate about what there doing.

This is the final film from the shoot with 59 productions. Pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

Stills From Video.

These are some stills from the video. Is going ok the edit is a little frustrating as there are so many clips to go through and render out. Its coming together though. We feel that the shots of the box look extremely like the pictures from the presentation that the band presented us in the initial meeting, so we feel proud about that. The one thing that could have made it a lot better, would have been to use strong LED lights at the back of the box. Therefore we could have casted more light at the front of the box making the white boarders lighter.

Bradford International Film Festival 2010

The festival will take place at the National Media Museum and will span 11 days packed full of your favourite strands including Widescreen Weekend, plus premieres and previews. We will be inviting plenty of special guests, so film fans can hear the stories behind their favourite stars and movies through talks and screenings.

I will attending the Bradford International Film Festival 2010. Will be a great way of meeting people, possibly recruiting crew for Rory and myself's new short film we are producing. It will be also a great way of seeing what these cinematographers are producing and to see of what standard they are.

DeLorean Drivers Music Video Shoot.

We shot the video on Sat 6th Feb. It went really well, the band were very well organised by building and painting the box perfectly. We planned the timing of the shot well. It was a new great experience for me as there were nine members in the band and a tight time schedule, we had to produce a really detailed shot list. Here are some pictures from the shoot.

DeLorean Drivers Music Video Second Meeting.

In our second meeting we came up with some dates to film. We are using the studio theatre as we need to film in a controlled area. We had some story boards mocked up, and the band were happy with them. The bands manager told us that the band have recently had a lot of interest from the music business down in london and he thinks the video will show them the band will be successful.

DeLorean Drivers Music Video.

After producing the music video for A Lot LIke Eskimos, Myself and Rory were approached by the DeLorean Drivers asking us to produce one for them. They had a great idea from the start, in our initial meeting they presented us with there ideas. We both liked the idea and gave them a lot of input and added to their ideas. We thought it would be a great video to produce and will be a strong piece to go in our portfolios, we also felt that the band were extremely motivated and we likes the song for the video.





This is the presentation that the band showed us at the meeting.
We are now thinking about ways to improve thre video and make it the best of our ability.

Bradford Creative Careers Fair

Following the success of a similar event last year, Bradford-based creative and media organisations, Artworks and BMedia are hosting a careers fair aimed at prospective employees of the creative industries. This industry is notably difficult to gain entry into and sound careers advice hard to obtain. This event aims to resolve these issues with workshops, seminars and advice sessions from industry professionals covering the following proposed areas:

Illustration

Fine Art

Led by Leo Warner, Mark Grimmer and Lysander Ashton, Fifty Nine Productions is a film and new media production company which specialises in film making and integrating the moving image into live performance. The company's team plays both a creative and technical role in the realisation of film, theatre, opera, music, ballet and fine art projects.

I have just been co filming 59 productions behind the scenes kind of video. I went to a warehouse where they are busy building a set for Jonsi (Jónsi Birgisson – best known as the singer from Icelandic post-rock heroes Sigur Rós – is teaming up with Fifty Nine Productions to create an extraordinary new live show that will tour the world from April, in one of the most exciting cross-artform collaborations of the year.) They are making it for a world tour. So myself and another cinematographer Dan Magee filmed and interviewed the guys at work.

It was a really interesting day and i got to meet some great people. i Met the owner Leo and i personally interviewed him, it was really interesting.

It was good experience for me. I will post the edit up when its done.

Screen Yorkshire Meeting

I went to a screen yorkshire meet and greet in Leeds. It was just at a bar at the bottom end of town. Myself and Rory Martinez are shooting a short romantic and emotive short film for our FMP. I went with the intension on recruiting people who i felt we needed to get onboard from our shoot. We need a composer and sound designer, lighting technician, and a make up artist.

I met a guy called Dave Allen (davewadammusic.com) who is a composer. Im now in contact with his about the short film.

I also met make up artist, which is great and i got the impression they were up for it.

The event was really helpful and i will be attending as many of these meet and greets. Its a great way of meeting new people in the industry and a method of collaborating with people who are talented in many different areas of filmmaking.
